Leonardo Gava was born in Conegliano, near Treviso, in 1993. Always passionate about photography, he earned his bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences at IUSVE Mestre (Venice) and his master's degree in Visual Communication Design at the IUAV University of Venice. He currently works as a graphic designer and photographer in Venice, where he lives. From 2023 he returned at IUAV University of Venice as a teaching assistant at User Interfaces design class.

His approach to design isn't all about aesthetics, it's more about finding the adequate solution to problems with a touch of charm.

His photographic work has shifted from earlier years focusing on portrait and sports photography to a current emphasis on the urban landscape, industrial photography, and auteur reportage.
