2022 — Ongoing / Personal project
Venice is a city that suffers, beyond the dazzling appearance reserved for a few: overtourism, real estate speculation, and erroneous social and housing policies are gradually suffocating it amidst trinkets of fake Murano glass and portable fans. Personally, I am fortunate, at a high cost, to be able to live here and I fight to be able to stay.
For some years now, I have been following and documenting the marches and protests that Venetians – the real ones, those who speak up – put into action to keep Venice a place not solely reserved for tourism.
THANKS
Grateful thanks to Federica, Marta, Ruggero, Giulia, Carlotta, Stella, Alice, Tommaso and all who endeavor, with unwavering voices, for a better, more equitable, and sustainable Venice. Thank you, Elena, for joining me at so many of these protests. Thanks to all the collectives that have appreciated and appreciate my shots.
